Christmas Opening Hours

Firstly, we would like to thank all of our customers for their support throughout this year. We have had the privilege of working with so many of you to improve your music systems, and we never tire of the joy music brings both to you and us too.

So…..Thank-You!

Remembering John Lobley

Remembering our friend John Lobley.

John Lobley 1953-2024.

A few weeks ago we received some very sad news from John’s wife Cathryn that John had passed away suddenly. I have know John for just over 40 years since he first set foot in our shop in Oldham. In that time, John has been a loyal customer, and friend. He walked the Hi-Fi path to arrive at a wonderful sounding Audio Note system, which in later life has been the joy that fed his love of music.

At his funeral there were some wonderful tributes and music to a very kind, thoughtful and generous man who loved gardening and dancing to the music he so loved!

Our deepest sympathy to Cathryne who always supported John’s passion for music.

We will miss him.

The time is almost upon us when we get to blast out some fine music at what we consider to be the finest British Hi-Fi show on the calendar at North West Audio Show 2024. So here are a few details on what to expect….

What we are playing…

As some of you may have noticed over the last fifteen years or so we have become huge fans of valve based Hi-Fi systems, and our product range has reflected that too, with us stocking brands such as Puresound, Audion and Leben. But we also have a real love for all things Audio Note, so this year we will be bringing along a full Audio Note Hi-Fi system for you to have a listen to – consisting of both digital and analogue sources. We have been testing this system all week and it is starting to sound really spectacular. We can’t wait for you to hear it!

Here are the details…

The North West Audio Show 2024 will be held at DeVere Cranage Estate in Cheshire over the weekend of Saturday 22nd June and Sunday 23rd June.
It is FREE to attend!!
Our room will be open from around 9.30am til 6pm each day. (We are in the Curie Suite)
We will be playing a varied selection of both vinyl and CD throughout the weekend – so don’t worry if you don’t like the classical piece we might be playing when you walk in, give it a few minutes and we’ll be likely playing something wildly different. Black metal you say? Sure!

What else is on?

Great question – we are glad you asked. Well, both Dave and Jimmy will be on hand playing some great music for you all – and will also be available to chat (preferably outside the room if you want to pick our brains on something or catch up!). Other than that:

The North West Record Fair – boasting over 30 vendors!
Live Music from the Tempus Bar downstairs each day from 1pm.
There will be a few incredible historic PA systems and desks playing in the courtyard – from Pink Floyd’s 1971 Dark Side of the Moon rig, to David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust 1973 system!
